Soon after taking a high school photography & darkroom class, Josh Kimball began shooting images of anything and everything in sight. Within a few short years, some of his images ran in leading publications, and a career path was born as dozens of national and international magazines, books, calendars and websites collectively published hundreds of his images. A few of many editorial titles Josh saw his work published in have included The Washington Post, Surfer Magazine, and The Surfer's Journal, and some of his advertorial clients include Patagonia, Google, and Virgin Atlantic.
After roughly ten years spent focusing his craft on the Editorial/Ad worlds, Kimball then began to devote himself towards fine art photography with large format print production becoming the focal point. With this newfound fine art focus, his passion for capturing Ocean, Landscape, City, Wine Country & Wildflower imagery has blossomed into a well-rounded portfolio. In this way, Kimball's photography has become finely honed into two parts: the presentation of his best fine art work as seen in this website, as well as displaying and selling large format prints at some of California’s most select art fairs and festivals.
Josh currently resides in the Southern California mountain town of Tehachapi, where snowy winters, wildflower-rich springs, and the beautiful solitude of the nearby Mojave Desert are among his favorite subjects to shoot.
